there’s not much that doesn’t inspire me about this beautiful barcelona home featured recently in architectural digest españa, one of my favorite decor magazines. if you’ve never taken a look at AD españa, i highly recommend subscribing to their newsletter, or the magazine so you can peek inside homes as inspirational as this one on a regular basis. this is a very cinematic home, not surprisingly perhaps because it’s the renovated flat of an architect, Sabine Wlokas and his partner Francisco Javier Gómez Pinteño, a director and screenwriter. their flair for the dramatic and fearless pairing of vintage found furnishings from just about every era had me rethinking my entire space. i both love, and hate when that happens! their dogma is my dogma: celebratory decay. “I find the most original old, much more interesting. Everything we have has sentimental value. There are things that we find, and others that find us,” says Sabine. I just love that kind of heartfelt philosophy of design. for the full tour, visit architectural digest españa.
